There is not a huge difference between kid Halloween costumes and adult Halloween costumes, except the size. However, young kids tend to want to dress as their favorite cartoon character or super hero, and many older kids and teenagers enjoy scarier costumes.

Adults have many costume choices, and they tend to pick their costume depending on where it will be worn. For example, if the costume is going to be worn to a party, a funny, crazy or even sexy costume may be worn. If the costume is going to be worn with the purpose of scaring kids who come trick-or-treating, a witch or monster costume may be desired.

One type of common party is a couple�s party where two people arrive at the party in matching or corresponding costumes. Another type of popular Halloween party for adults is a party where the best costume wins some sort of prize. At these types of parties, adults have been known to spend days (if not weeks) creating a unique, original, and intricate costume.
